Welcome to a new Season

Mandy Fisher likes to say a huge thank you to all the players that have supported the Association over the past few years. With 4 out of the 6 2010/2011 events sponsored it seems that things are looking up for ladies snooker and she looks forward to a really successful season. We sincerely hope that lady players, old and new, will come and join us.

The World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Association is the governing body for womens Snooker and Billiards and was founded in 1981 by former World Ladies Professional Snooker Champion Mandy Fisher, who is the associations President.

We have over 100 registered players world-wide with the eldest being 90 years old and the youngest 9 years. The highlight from one of our World Championships was when we had the privilege of no fewer than 18 nationalities competing from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, India, South Africa, Brazil, Singapore, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Norway, Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.

In a typical season the Ladies snooker calendar comprises of around six ranking tournaments staged in clubs all over the country.  Although recently entries have dropped due to lack of sponsorship, on average about 40 members would compete regularly in each tournament, giving the girls plenty of opportunity to play.  Many of the finals of the Ladies events have been held at the prestigious main tour venues, including the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.

The aim of the WLBSA is to encourage players and their love of the sport and nurture their interest; therefore anyone is free to become a member regardless of age or ability.
